As our IT Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery, and maintaining uninterrupted business operations. Your responsibilities will extend to managing access to tools and services, keeping a detailed access register, and overseeing the onboarding and offboarding processes. With your comprehensive experience in IT management, you will lead efforts in both day-to-day system management and strategic defence initiatives, safeguarding our digital assets and supporting our continued success.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the maintenance, operation, and scaling of the company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of IT services and systems.
• Manage IT service delivery, ensuring alignment with business needs and user satisfaction.
• Access management: oversee the software and hardware tools that employees use.
• Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems for other employees.
• Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Plan and manage IT-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with various departments and external vendors as necessary.
• Manage the IT budget.
• Optimize IT spending while ensuring the effective delivery of IT services.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure all IT processes are well-documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure the quality of vendor services.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Conduct regular testing and updating of these plans.
• Regularly assess IT operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT services.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role.
• A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
• Proven track record of managing IT infrastructure and services in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in overseeing IT service delivery, including incident management, access management, problem resolution, and change management processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
